“Who shall I be today?” is a collection of poems that delves into what makes up a woman. It talks of a mother’s love and fears; a woman’s search for herself; the yearnings of the heart for that someone special. It tells of the hurt and pain that love brings, and the courage to pick up the pieces and start over again.

You will find tears and smiles, pain and pride. You will find fear and courage, nostalgia and anticipation. You will find woman in all her avatars.

“Who shall I be today” by Sunita Saldhana is something written from the heart. It is a celebration of womanhood. It is guaranteed to touch the soul of every woman who reads it.

Book Review : The Bearded Prince by Rajesh Talwar

                                                                Blurb:

After much persuasion, Princess Roopali, ‘the beautiful one’, agrees to have a swayamvara. This is an ancient Indian ceremony in which an unmarried girl who has come of age chooses a husband from among several suitors. According to the tradition, at the end of the ceremony, the princess is required to place a marigold garland around the neck of the prince she has decided to marry. She is happy to meet with all the princes who will attend the ceremony, and are keen to be chosen by her. She explains to her parents, the king and queen that she does not, however, wish to meet anyone with a beard. Over the past few years there have been a string of armed robberies by a gang of tough-looking bearded thugs. The princess has come to dislike beards. Her father, the king, explains to her that it would be discourteous for them not to extend an invitation to any eligible prince, but he would be surprised if any of them still sported a beard. Will Princess Roopali find the prince of her dreams? A delightful tale set in Ancient India the story provides a window into an exotic culture and will appeal to children from all age groups – particularly those from the ages of five to one hundred.

Book Review :

The Bearded Prince by Rajesh Talwar is ideal book to read .I  thoroughly loved reading it ,especially the first few pages as it had some British structures to it .

The way in the princess Roopali wishes  and  explains her desirous need of beardless groom by putting her father Raja in dilemma of not extending invitation to any breaded eligible prince  feels good to read and imagine with winking simile since girls are close to their fathers  .

Rajesh Talwar has elaborately explained our Indian culture in a sweet and brief  way  by keeping the children interest and their span of attention in mind .

I would like young parents and teens to buy this book in paperback form and read it with great zeal .

Thanks Mr . Rajesh  for bringing   such a wondrous and ponderous  book for the world that can be relished with  mangoes this season .

Kalki Krishnamurthy’s Ponniyin Selvan is a masterpiece that has enthralled generations of Tamil readers. Many authors have written phenomenal books in Tamil literature after Kalki Krishnamurthy, but Ponniyin Selvan remains the most popular, widely-read novel. It has just the right mixture of all things that makes an epic – political intrigue, conspiracy, betrayal, huge dollops of romance, infidelity, seduction, passion, alluring women, unrequited love, sacrifice and pure love.

Excerpt

“I have brought important information for all of you. That’s why I asked the noble Sambuverayar to invite us all here. Maharaja Sundara Chola’s health has been steadily deteriorating. I secretly asked our royal physician, and he says that there is absolutely no chance of his health improving. His days are numbered. And it is up to us, to think about the future of the royal throne.”

“What do the astrologers say?” asked one of the noble men.

“Why ask the astrologers? Haven’t you seen the comet that has been appearing in the sky, for the past few weeks? They say whenever a comet appears, there will be death in the royal family,” said another.

“I have asked the astrologers as well, and they say that the king might live for some more time. Anyway, we will have to decide who should ascend the throne next,” said Pazhuvetarayar.

“What is the use of discussing that now? Aditya Karikalan was made the Crown Prince two years ago,” said one of the noblemen.

“True. But before he took that decision, did Sundara Chola consult any of us? We all have stood by the Chola Kingdom with loyalty and have sacrificed our sons and grandsons in the battlefield. Even now warriors from each of our clans have gone to Elangai to fight for the Chola Kingdom. Don’t you think we deserve the right to be consulted about who should be the next heir to the throne? Even King Dasaratha asked his council of ministers, before deciding to crown Rama. But our Sundara Chola didn’t think it necessary to consult anyone…”

About the author

Sundari Venkatraman is an indie author who has 15 titles to her name, all Top 100 Bestsellers on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.

Even as a kid, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome as she grew up reading all the fairy tales she could lay her hands on, Phantom comics, Mandrake comics and the like. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy end.

Soon, into her teens, Sundari switched her attention from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to a local hero and heroine. Her imagination took flight and she always lived in a rosy cocoon of romance over the years.

Then came the writing – a true bolt out of the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

Book Review Of Finding THE Angel by Rubina Ramesh

findingtheangel

                  Book Review

Rubina Ramesh  is a fantastic story-teller .Finding the Angel is her second book .With this book she has proved to be  the Angel of all the romantic tales  .

“Finding the Angel” is the story  of Shefali and Aryan and their  tryst to  be each other′s soul mates is clearly written in  a fairy tale kind of  fashion . For me Shefali ′s character felt like Cinderella .

The emotions of characters in this book are very well explained .I love the style in which Rubina has explained desk of Aryan′s library  room.

What caught my attention is the ‘Finding The Angel ’ scene where Aryan ′ s duty towards his family rules over his  heart .

What I  did not like : Aryan confessing  his love immediately after hurting Shefali′s  so badly and  Shefali saying ‘Yes’ to him after his confusion .

Since there is no in dynamism .I  still do not understand why Aryan hurts Shefali without understanding anything , is it mark of being royal prince .

Anyways the book is worth reading over and over for Aryan′s character .

3 and half  dance steps for this book.
